We use/have used base ten blocks, C-rods, abacus, clocks, and the 100 number chart. Maybe more...we don't use manipulatives often but I am glad to have them when I need them. We started out with Saxon and I kept the manipulatives just in case. I am glad I did.

As far as I know, the only manipulative actually recommended in the Gr. 1 level is an abacus. I have one but haven't used it much. Manipulatives aren't really our thing, I guess. :) If you like them, I'm sure hanging on to what you have would be useful.

I'd keep them if they are used to them and use them regularly and like them. If they don't like them w/MUS or act as if it slows them down and they don't need it, then they won't need them with MM. My DS used MM from 3rd-5th and he never uses manipulatives. My younger girls have used MM from 1st-3rd and they use base 10 blocks, cuisenaire rods, an abacus, and 100 chart all the time. It just depends on your child.
