that you can't keep and reuse a wonderful marinade that our steaks have been soaking in all afternoon ...

 

my husband always makes the marinade for our steaks...and they taste so good...but I always feel so wasteful throwing it down the drain after only using it once. :(

Boil it.. I have a recipe for Korean beef that has you boil the marinade for three minutes then use it as a sauce for the grilled meat and rice. The beef juices that have seeped into the marinade while it ,well, marinated only add to the sauce's flavor.

can I marinade more meat in it...or is that not a safe thing. Like, make the marinade put some steak in it. Grill the steak, and then add some more steak for the next night..or even put some steak in it and freeze it for another time next week? Does that make sense??

No. Boil it or cook with it and use it that night, or throw it out. It's not safe to keep around. It's like raw meat with sugar sprinkled on it - a perfect breeding medium for bacteria.

 

But it's not really wasted - all that tasty goodness is soaked into your meat.
