My D&C was Feb. 8th. No AF in sight. My OB wants me to go on b/c for a week then see if AF shows. Has anyone done this/heard of this? I am usually regular like clockwork (I know I ovulated but it's been over two weeks since that and I know I'm not pg as we were told not to ttc the first cycle). I'm so frustrated and fearful that the D&C has messed me up for good. :(

Hugs to you! I'm so sorry for you loss. I have never had a D&C, but after my m/c my cycle was off and it never had been before. Once it regulated itself, I was back to normal again and it was again like clockwork. I have definitely heard of taking BC to regulate. I also know lots of women take provera to kick start their cycle again. I really don't think you are messed up for good. Your body just needs time.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I had a D&C in December and the month after is nervewracking.

FWIW, you're still in the range of a "normal" cycle, so I'd wait a few more days before worrying too much. I haven't heard of using BCP for that reason, but who knows- I'd ask them to clarify what that would do for you.

One thing you could do is take a pg test to see if your levels have gone back to normal. If it's pos you'd have to start looking into why yoir body thinks you're still pregnant. Good Luck to you - I know how hard this is.

:grouphug: I know it is hard not to be anxious. I would think that after any type of miscarriage (including a d & c), it could take time for the cycle to get back to normal. I have to say it took me a few minutes to figure out that AF was not Amniotic Fluid (due to the previous topic on ultrasounds & baby size sending me to re-read some studies regarding ultrasound and fetal size and determining amniotic fluid levels.)
