Bree
We are finishing up Apologia Astronomy. My 8 year old likes Apologia but my 6 year old just kinda hangs out. Any suggestions as something great to use that both would like that maybe wont break the bank :) They love animals and I wouldn't mind if there was maybe supplemental reading you could add in but wasn't necessary. Science version of SOTW lol. Thanks. Or maybe just a good program for a 6 and 8 year old ;)
2_girls_mommy
We followed the WTM plans for grammar stage science. Not long ago I had and 8 and a 6 yr old. That was chemistry year. We used WTM's suggestion of Adventures w/Atoms and Molecules and the Usborne Science Encyclopedia. We did the experiment, dd8 filled out a lab sheet, and dd6 drew a picture of what we did and gave me a narration which I wrote on the bottom of her page. Then we read the Encyclopedia on related subjects and dd10 looked up definitions of any highlighted words. Then both girls would explore the internet links from the Usborne. Easy peasy. There aren't a lot of elem. chemistry picture books to supplement though. We did find a few and a couple of videos at the library.

edeemarie
If you have the Magic School Bus DVDs I put a science curriculum together based on them and added library books and a few eBooks I purchased at Scholastic dollar days. http://wateronthefloor.wordpress.com/homemade-studies/. I am currently using it with ds9 and dd7.

elizabeth rose
Elemental Science is what I am using with a 7 and 9 year old. It's easy to get done, and I do find extra books at the library very easily.

DiannaC
I'm using 106 Days of Creation Science from Simply Charlotte Mason right now, and we love it! Thanks for sharing. I'm very undecided about science for my 1st grader next year & this looks gentle & fun. Plus, it isn't a textbook!
