alisoncooks
....do you use the Teacher's Guide? Or can it be taught from the student workbook? (We'll likely be using Grade 2 next year.) I like the look of the samples and think my DD would prefer it to R&S (my other choice). Who has used BJUP English and what are your thoughts on it? Do you use any additional English (more grammar? more writing? do you find if fully sufficient?) TIA!
SebastianCat
We have used it for 1st-5th grades now. You are supposed to teach from the teacher guide, but in our experience, it's not totally necessary. We are supplementing this year with additional writing (IEW) just becuase I felt that was an area my kids were lacking somewhat. We do separate programs for spelling and reading becuase the BJU English just contains grammar and writing. We have been very pleased with BJU for English, although I haven't used any other subjects from them.
Ann.without.an.e
I really like BJU. I use the Teacher's edition as an answer key and I use the CD (included in teacher's edition) to print off the grammar reviews (for when they are in a writing unit). You can find a current edition used?
