briansmama
Is there a way to familiarize my dc with Latin that may be helpful to them down the road, but without the goal of fluency? Is anyone else here doing this? I'm thinking that for botany, medical terminology, grammar, etc., it could be useful down the road, but since they are already studying Spanish I don't think I want to add another language program. If anyone here is utilizing Latin in the this way, do you have any recommendations for games, materials, books, etc., that you have found helpful? My dc are Kindy and 3rd grade. Thanks for any guidance!
SilverMoon
You might look at English From the Roots Up (EFTRU) for that third grader to use next year. It's root based vocab as it applies to English, and covers common Latin and Greek roots.

nandmsmom
We have absolutely adored Getting Started with Latin. The kids beg to do Latin. You generally learn one word a day and then translate a few sentences orally. It is just an introduction, but a really fun and easy one. chepyl
We are using Prima Latina this year. It is quick and easy. I also play the classical conversations memory cds some for skip counting and the Latin.
