Chelle in MO
I made more pot pie filling than will fit in the 2 crusts I have. Can I put the extra (about 2 cups) in a small pie plate and top it w/blobs of Bisquick dough? Would that work? Thanks!
Forget-Me-Not
Yep! It probably won't need to bake as long though :)
Excelsior! Academy
Yes. Alternatively, you can freeze the filling in a freezer baggie for use later if it is not needed now.
Amira
We love the blob method. Some people in my family prefer it to the regular crust.

gardenmom5
I always top my pot pie's with biscut dough. roll it thinner than you would for biscuts, cut steam slits, and press it to the edge of your casserole dish.
Flowing Brook
sounds good. Now I want pot pie :tongue_smilie:
justasque
You can also serve it over rice, or egg noodles, or top with mashed potatoes, or freeze to use later. I often make a double batch of "innards" and freeze it to use later with one of the above variations.
raceNzanesmom
For next time- 1c Bisquick, 1/2 c milk, 1 egg Mix and spoon over pie filling. Makes a beautiful topping. Double for a 9x13.
Chelle in MO
I love all the alternatives! I got so busy after my OP that I just put it in the frig and will decide what to do w/it after church today. Thanks again, everyone!
lavender's green
I make huge batches of turkey pot pie all the time, and freeze it in single-dinner sizes. You can top it with cheese instead of dough and bake it in ramekins (not necessary, but it's kind of fun), or if you want to really transform it add some leftover rice and broccoli, top with cheese, and bake.
