kfeusse
Who knew? I didn't. Maybe I am showing just how dumb I am...but I had no idea. My 11 year old son wants a soccer ball...but when I went to Amazon to buy one...that is when I found out. So what do the sizes mean and what size do I want for my son? Please help me. AimeeM
Yes, yes they do, lol. The bigger sizes are for the younger crowd. Is he on a U12 team or is he just wanting a ball to kick around? A size 4 should work nicely for his age and I believe that's standard for his age group if he's on a team. (having to bring this back from my memory archives - I played soccer all throughout my childhood)
Miss Peregrine
I would get a size 5. That is for about 12 and up.
ChristusG
For an 11 year old you'll want regulation size, which is a 5. He could do with a 4. Smaller balls are for younger kids.
GSOchristie
We have three sizes. Size 5 that was Logan's in high school and college, I think it's regulation size. Anyone in 8U (8 and under) uses size 3 in Asher's league, and Jac gas a smaller one that doesn't have a size listed. If you contact your coach, they can tell you what size is used in practice and games.
Caroline
My son is a U12 player. When they play 8 a side, they use a 4. When they play 11 a side, they use a 5.
twoxcell
Yes they do. On the boxes they say what age level they are for. :)
ccolopy
I would get a 5. My DD's league still uses a size 4 for games, but she finds a size 5 fine at home. DS has been using size 5 in games for a few years now.
