Parrothead
I've realized I need to buy one more book. I need a high school level all-purpose how to do art book. Or a very inexpensive series of how-to books. Something that includes drawing, water colors, oils or acrylics. charcoal, pastels, etc. Any help or suggestions that are passed along will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Alte Veste Academy
My MIL bought me DK Art School a few years back. I love it, and it is bargain-priced right now so a total steal. http://www.amazon.com/DK-Art-School-Introduction-Techniques/dp/B005GNK6NM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361662932&sr=8-1&keywords=dk+art+school
Five More Minutes
Okay, so this is not a book, but I've been impressed with the quality of instruction at Will Kemp Art School and can see it easily being adapted to a HS level. Will is an excellent instructor, and his freebie videos are a fair representation of what some of his longer (paid) courses offer. Working through his free courses would give a solid basis for starting some of his longer ones.
