Between 5.7 and 6.4 you have an increased risk of diabetes. Higher than that indicates that you have diabetes.

 

My dd's a1c was 5.4 and that has me concerned. We did the a1c test because her fasting blood sugar was in the prediabetes range. I'd definitely be researching with an a1c of 6.
