JadeOrchidSong
I am going to buy a gift for a friend's father who is turning 85 in March. He is Chinese in China and is very forgetful, Alzeihmer's, maybe? Any ideas for a small, light, easy to bring gift? Thank you?
dm379
Some good tea.
JadeOrchidSong
Some good tea. Thank you for the suggestion. Good tea is cheaper in China than in the US. Something made in the U. S. or another country than China will be more appreciated and expected.
J-rap
Handkerchiefs? That generation often uses nice cloth ones instead of kleenex. My 84 year old father does, and he is always needing new ones! You can get ones with his initials on it. Or, a food item popular in your area? A pair of Smartwool socks? A nice mug (for his tea!) with a design or something on it that pertains to your area (or made by a local artist)?

I think wool socks and a mug will make great gifts for him.
KrissiK
I'm not sure how well you know this person, but I was thinking of a little photo album of loved ones you could make on Shutterfly or something.
JadeOrchidSong
It is my high school best friend's father. I stayed with them every summer vacation until I was done graduate school. I do send them family pictures regularly.
JFSinIL
I made my dad a photo book of his time in the Air National guard during the Korean War, using both his old photos and stuff nabbed off the interent. He still talks about that book, and has taken it everyhwere to show it off.
