dovrar
Hello all, Dd has decided that she would like to learn hindi. I've got a native speaker that would be willing to help her with her pronunciation and give her an opportunity to practice what she learns. What I would like help with is finding some printable flashcards that will help her learn how to write the characters. I plan to laminate them so that she can trace over them with an erasable marker. She is very good at art and I don't doubt that she can pick it up quickly with a little practice. Also, I see that Tuttle has a hindi curriculum...Elementary Hindi. Has anyone used this before? Comments? Other suggestions? Thanks so much! Debbie
umsami
Is there a temple near you? A lot of times they offer weekend school that will teach Hindi. They might have some stuff in their bookshop too. Even some Indian groceries might carry stuff you can use. Rasa
In my pre-baby days I used http://www.amazon.co...vanagari script#_ The book was very clear, and I learnt to read and write the script effortlessly (and forgot just as effortlessly as soon as the babies came along :-)) I think that a motivated kid might enjoy it. This looks good. Dd is actually in HS, but I posted here because we need the elementary components of the language. ; )
