Mom in High Heels Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Who uses Write On? What do you think of it? How does it work? Quote
Holly Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 We just started this and I really like how it is set up. You can download the instructor's guide here, and I think it does a good job of explaining how it works. You can also see more sample pages at Amazon. Basically, every 5th writing prompt is a more formal writing lesson. In between these are creative writing prompts. You are supposed to alternate these and reuse many of the lessons, each time helping them a bit less, as they build confidence. It is meant to be covered over 3 years. We've only done a few of the lessons, but many of them can be incorporated into our other subjects as well. I'm planning on using some of the prompts for our history notebooks. Many are pretty simple ideas (like acrostics or writing riddles), but I love having it all planned out for me. We can pretty much just grab the book and get started. Quote
KeriJ Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Holly, as I've been researching writing programs, I've been seeing your posts on this program. You've gotten me intrigued. I think we might try it for next year! Quote
