sewgirlie
How do they differ? Do your children prefer one or the other? Do you? Thanks! Carrie

EmilyK
We preferred --the Classical Kids Cds, --the Classics for Kids podcasts, http://www.classicsforkids.com/ -- The Story of Classical Music, Famous Composers, more Famous Composers http://www.amazon.com/Story-Classical-Music-Darren-Henley/dp/9626343109 -- Ann Rachlin audios (available on itunes, and her website) -- Maestro Classics http://www.maestroclassics.com/ over the "Story of" Cds. They seemed maybe a little dry and old fashioned. Other people whose taste I trust swear by them. It must just be a matter of personal taste. BoyOBoy
The narration is a bit dry in the Story of cd's but we love them. My 5 and 3 yr old request them and we are all learning a lot about the composers. The delivery hasn't been a problem for us, but I think it is definitely a matter of taste. We specifically wanted biographical information with the music, and this seemed the best series for that.

3lilreds in NC
The "Story of" CDs are a bio of the composer, along with selections of the music. The Classical Kids CDs are stories set to the music. Check out a review of them here: http://www.thecurriculumchoice.com/2009/07/classical-kids-cds/ My kids have enjoyed them both. I agree with BoyOBoy that the "Story Of" Cds are a bit drier in presentation, but my kids have learned a lot from them.

I like to have this series of books for them to look at while listening to them in the van. They notice similarities in the stories and it makes the 'bio' aspect less dry.
