ETA: 2011 edition which was half the price of the 2013 ed. And I like the penguins on the cover better than the macaw on this year's books. Quote

maize Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 We have the 2003 edition World Book--my kids read it all the time. I want to upgrade sometime in the next few years to a more recent edition, but this works for now. LOVE encyclopedias... Quote
Parrothead Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Now I have to find shelf space for it. I wonder if I can get another bookshelf out of the deal. Quote
jelbe5 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I love my 2005 Worldbook which I picked up at a Library sale. It was the reference set and seemed barely used. I really bought it for me, you know. I always wanted an encyclopedia . . Quote

Only 3 volumes then - can you imagine?! IMO, you can never have too many encyclopedias, nor too many dictionaries. Quote
Ruby Rose Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I totally get it! I used to lay in the floor and read encyclopedias as a kid. I can only hope my kids will be the same way. Don't think I can convince the hubs to drop that much on books, but I think I can swing the DVD version! Now I'm excited! :drool5: Quote
Parrothead Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 I asked dh if he ever read the encyclopedia as a kid. He said yes, fairly often. I know my brother and I read ours a lot. My kid? Nope. She helped take off the shrink wrap ( from every stinking volume) then went to play video games. I think I'm going to ban all electronics until dd reads the entire thing. Bwahahaha Quote
