Lisa in SC
I figured, it's Valentine's Day, dh is out of town, the boys wanted ice cream, so why not? Y'all probably do this all the time, but I was so impressed that it worked. I'm easily amused. We do have a Vitamix, so be sure your blender can handle grinding ice to a smooth consistency if you decide to try this. I wouldn't want to be the cause of any blender's demise. The boys just put 1/4 milk, 2 cups ice, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 4 tablespoons of sugar into the blender and blended on high until it was thick and smooth. I had a spoonful and it was pretty darn good. Nothing like a little mid-afternoon treat...especially on Valentine's Day.

Lisa in SC
The fact that you lived on a commune is very cool, and a way interesting (in a good way) fun fact. How did you make your smoothies? We don't have fresh cream, but I do always have good quality organic cream and nut butter. Now I want one! dbmamaz
i just put brown sugar, cream, vanilla and cashew butter in the vitamix, blended well, then added ice enough to get it thick like a milkshake. sometimes i would do lighter ones (when i wasnt pregnant!) like strawberries and lemon juice and a little mint and a touch of sugar . .and then the ice. now i use frozen fruit as my base . . . and spinach . .and protein powder. cuz i'm old and have to eat healthy lol
Lisa in SC
Thanks! My oldest dd is pregnant, and this sounds like something she'd enjoy. I would too, but maybe only one, because I'm old and need to eat healthy too lol. I do green smoothies all the time. There's one I did last summer a lot, but I've lost the recipe. I remember it had lemons and lots of parsley, but I can't remember what else. It tasted wonderful.
