indigomama Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I'm sure this has been answered a few times, but I must not be searching by the right terms, I am looking for some type of checklist for my DSs 8 and 6. Something for them to see a list of things they need to cover for the day, and if I am busy with one of their siblings, they can look at the list and move on to something else, until I can help them. Anything like this out there? Quote
bodiesmom Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Hopefully someone will be able to direct you to a premade chart soon, but I just wanted to share that if you are in a bind, you can create one with excel. I have one for each of my kiddos with the m-f across the top and the different subjects going down. In each box they have the assigned work for that particular day and subject. If it is work that needs to be done with me I just write *see mom. If I knew how to upload pictures I would show how my rudimentary one is. :-) HTH! D Quote
dbmamaz Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 not sure exactly what you are looking for, but i use the checklist on cozi. i can update it from pc or tablet, my teen can check on pc or ipod touch, and i print it for my youngest. before that, i just made a word document for that - much bigger font than the cozi prints off on Quote
redsquirrel Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I just use a white board. I make a list of their subjects and they wipe it off as they go. Very simple and I have control over what is on the list. It only takes 30 seconds to make in the morning. I guess I could make it before I went to bed to make life even easier. Quote
Staceyshoe Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 We use workbox tags (without the workbox system). I bought some magnetic pencil holders that are designed for lockers. They each have one, and I have one. Every evening I put their little cards into their cup. They can do items in any order, and both of them love velcroing their tags to their name sheet. It's basically a visual interactive to-do list. It took some prep to get it ready, but it literally takes seconds to put the tags into their individual cups. I love that I can individualize it---putting in less on days when we have errands or lengthy science projects. None of the pre-made checklists I found worked well for us because we need flexibility. LauraKay28 Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I decided to go old-school with this one: when my mom first started homeschooling my brother and me, she would have us write down our assignments in a steno notebook, which we took with us to our quiet time. I loved it. Now homeschooling my own children, I have searched for the perfect way to give them their assignments, when the thing which has worked the absolute best is.......just writing a list on a piece of paper and they check it off as they go. I have 2 children in checklists, so it takes just a few minutes, and they love knowing what to do! I have ordered steno notebooks for them just because they make me happy. =) Quote

I'm not very familiar with it, and I guess I was hoping to find that someone had made a generic one. Perhaps I could get DH to make me one. Thanks for the idea! not sure exactly what you are looking for, but i use the checklist on cozi. i can update it from pc or tablet, my teen can check on pc or ipod touch, and i print it for my youngest. before that, i just made a word document for that - much bigger font than the cozi prints off on Thanks. Only problem is right now I can't hang my white board and haven't found a spot to set it where my littles don't get into it. But a great simple idea! We use workbox tags (without the workbox system). Paper and pencil is usually my preferred method for myself, I was just hoping to find something visually cleaner than handwriting. But it would definitely work. THanks Quote
PachiSusan Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I have a lesson plan book that I write each day what we are to accomplish. She reads it and puts a dot next to each entry when she's finished. Quote
FairProspects Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 I use the to-do list function in Cozi as well. :) Quote
