skeeterbug
So it looks like there is only one place in town that does roll laminating, and it will cost about $40 to get my wall timeline laminated. The timeline cost $40 to begin with, I really don't want to add another $40 to that! The timeline is nicely folded, I was thinking about cutting it apart at the creases (ack!) to make them about the size of a piece of paper so they would fit through my home laminating machine. Seven pieces per timeline section, there are four sections. Then I could use sticky tape on the back to piece them together and hang them on the wall. Will this work? Am I crazy? :D I want to laminate them to make them more durable. They'll be hung in the main hallway of our house and I can just see little hands all over them, accidentally ripping them. I thought they were printed on a heavier cardstock than they actually are. We will use sticky tac to hang timeline figures on them, or at least that's my plan right now. Wabi Sabi
I laminated mine. Initially I thought it would be too expensive to have done, but heard that you can laminate very inexpensively at Lakeshore Learning. I can't remember for certain, but maybe it was something like $0.30/foot? Anyhow, we don't have a Lakeshore locally, but there is one in the closest larger city (about 1.5 hrs away) so I waited until I was going to the city for another reason and did it then. skeeterbug
I could call around to places in the nearest large city, but it is a couple of hours away and we don't make it there but a couple of times a year. Not sure when our next visit would be. I'm still going to ask around a bit and see if anyone knows of any other options.
redsquirrel
I was VERY disappointed with those timelines. I consider them a big ripoff. I could not believe how flimsy they are. Mine ripped almost right away, so do whatever you need to do to preserve them.
blondeviolin
Maybe use clear contact paper?

Wish I could have seen them in person first. Maybe use clear contact paper? That is a stupendous idea! That would totally work. Except I am having a heart attack thinking about the wrinkle/bubble potential. :svengo:

Ask me how I know...you can reposition it or 24 hours I think, then it is permanent. Let me know if you need a link to it. PM me.
