********* Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Apparently, it is much less frustrating if big brother corrects your math then when Mommy does. Why it took me this long to discover that, I don't know. But apparently, correction from Zee is *wonderful*, while correction from Mommy is sigh/slump/pencil throw inducing. Who knew. Quote
Karen in CO Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Indeed. I knew that too. Anybody, almost, is better than mom. Really big brothers are great for teaching math too. My ds specializes in teaching long-division and fractions. I have threatened offered to send the girls to spend the summer with their brother when they get to algebra. He promptly rescued a cat (the girls are both allergic). MY brother doesn't have a cat. :D Quote
extendedforecast Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Unfortunately, that's not the case in this house, although she is starting to open up to getting help from her big sisters every once in a while. Quote
delaney Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Hmmmm... I thought that was mentioned in the handbook they give out when you have a baby. In the section right after back talk and sassiness. Quote
Hot Lava Mama Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Hmmmm... I thought that was mentioned in the handbook they give out when you have a baby. In the section right after back talk and sassiness. Yes, page 137, third paragraph. If you have an older version of the book, it's on page 128 on the top of the page. Quote
Desert Rat Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Hmmm....That wouldn't fly in our house. But, I'm glad it works for you! Quote
Garga Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Pencil throws! Those pencil throws give me the giggles. And that's like adding oil to the flame. It is NOT a good idea to giggle at a kid frustrated with math. Quote
