poiema
I know many of you use WWE, but I'm assuming the workbook is more commonly used. Does anyone use the teacher book only? I am thinking about just getting that so I can use copywork from books we are actually reading, but I think I would need a little assistance knowing what to choose. Also, knowing me, I'd probably use my own paper anyway, so I'm not sure a workbook would make much sense. Any one use it and like it? Or should I just stick with the workbook? Alte Veste Academy
Use it. Love it! The book provides examples for the first week of any change in requirements, so it is easy to see what you're looking for. I keep a pocketful of post-it notes at all times, always at the ready to mark a passage. After just a little practice, it is easy as pie to find what you need in your current reading. I love writing across the curriculum.
Grover
we're just using the manual too, as many of the books in the workbooks weren't particularly relevant to us. I'm getting pretty good at spotting a good narration passage now  my only issue is I tend to "creep" into passages that are a bit longer/ harder than those in the book, then we come to the next week that's actually in the manual and realise I've pushed on a little to far in the meantime. UrbanSue
We've done both and I prefer just having the textbook. We do copywork and dictation from McGuffey's now and narration with history. I love SWB's approach to learning writing but I didn't like the expense and bulk of the workbooks. They were great for me for a season--starting schooling with a newborn in the house I wanted to minimize my own thinking :). It's a great resource if you need it. But I"m a compulsive box-checker and it's better for my kids if we do the WWE skills with other work that we were doing anyway.
