EKS
If you were going to supplement writing instruction for a student attending a b&m school what would you use? I am looking for something that is powerful without a zillion assignments.
LunaLee
The Elegant Essay- I used it successfully with dd when she did a brief tour of b&m in 10th grade.
ThisIsTheDay
In general, something from IEW. It's written so that you can easily take any current writing assignment and apply what's been taught. We tried to use Elegant Essay a few years ago, before they had the separate teacher manual (or whatever the second book is). I have heard this has been a great improvement. At the time, it didn't work well for us, but I've successfully used The Lively Art of Writing for both my then-11th grader and now in bits and pieces for my 9th grader. I'd recommend that also. SailorMom
What about The Lively Art of Writing? I think it could work really well.
