I'm going to go ahead and start the thread for today. Post here and let us know when you finish your exercises for this week!

(Previous thread)

(Sit-ups Website)

In the future, maybe we should just do a weekly thread? I know some people are exercising on T/Th/Sa as well.

---------------------------

I finished Week One of sit-ups! :) I also started Week One of push-ups yesterday and almost died. I'm going to move over a column next time.

I think we need to merge the two threads..now we have a double Friday/ Week One..oops. A weekly thread is a good idea. We are all over the place with days...

I also finished the sit-ups. Ergh. I am still looking forward (not) to the last day of squats for this week.

I agree, a weekly thread would be better! Today I did my three sets of pull-ups using a True Stretch Cage. I stood in the cage facing the instruction panel, jumped to grab the bars above my head so that my palms were facing each other, and put my feet on the cage in front of me for support. The first set I used my legs a little in the beginning (until about 90 degrees) and finished the pull-up with my legs hanging. The next set I could only do the first few that way and the last set I needed the support of my legs to do all of them. I feel a little stronger, perhaps being able to do at least one pull-up without assistance at the end of six weeks isn't an impossible goal for me!

I am impressed!!

It’s an impossible goal for me. I am not even going to attempt it! LOL. I may do the dips though..dips give you great looking arms (as do pull ups, I am sure).

You should go for it with the dips! They are easy to modify if you need, the straighter your legs are the harder it is and once you become a superstar at them you can put a weight on your lap.

I'm not doing situps, pushups, squats, or dips (well I am but not as a challenge!) but I did meet my goal of 3 days of pull-ups, 3 sets each time. Where did everyone else go?

im here! I still can't do a sit up but at least i did a week of moving muscles. Maybe I should stay in week 1 until I can manage a real sit up?

Are you trying to do a full situp? Have you tried crunches? You can always start with a modified plank to strengthen your core. IMO it is much more efficient than situps as it works your back, butt, legs, shoulders, chest, arms, back, and abdominals. It is also much easier on your spine, versatile with the many variations you can do, and attainable to most fitness levels when modified.

Here are some websites to get you started if you are so inclined:

Remember, baby steps still get you to your destination!
