jen3kids
I have around $2000 in my paypal account that I've been thinking of using on a family vacation. Our vacations are usually centered on family visits, but the kids have said they'd like to do something else. So, where can we a family of 5 go to, all inclusive, for less than $2000? We are willing to fly and we have passports. We are on the East Coast. Thanks, Jen
gingersmom
I would check out the airlines that fly out of your closest airport and find out what vacation packages they are offering. Florida (not Disney) is usually affordable Maybe a cruise?
AnIslandGirl
Hmm, to be honest I don't think 2K will be enough. Flights alone to anywhere with all inclusive resorts are running around $500 per person, so you are already over your budget just in air-fare. Add in a resort during peak time, and I just don't think it's doable unless you have some great frequent flyer miles or find a killer deal. Remember too that anyone over age 12 is considered an adult at most all-inclusives, so you'd need either 2 rooms or a family suite. We love the ease of all inclusive resorts, but we budget anywhere from 4-12K for just 2 adults and one child (9). You never though, you may stumble upon a wonderful deal. Good Luck! EDIT: If you meant you only wanted to spend 2K in total, then I'm sure you can find something wonderful! I read all inclusive to mean an "all-inclusive" resort, but looking back, I may have misunderstood!
Jennifer in MI
I was going to say a cruise too! But, instead of flying, drive down to save money. Our family went on a cruise (Royal Caribbean) in January. Six nights for $2500 for six of us!!! Pretty awesome deal. I bet you could find something like that! Keep in mind that added to cruise costs are the incidentals on the ship (they can really add up - so be careful!) and the tips. We got off this last ship owing ONLY for tips, one photo, and a couple drinks. And, if you want to do Disney, I bet a bunch of us could help you do it for under $2000! Just a trip that includes most stuff, like travel and hotel. Food included would be a bonus! I was going to say a cruise too! But, instead of flying, drive down to save money. Ships come into our city! Our neighbours went on a cruise last summer and loved it. I'll look into that. Thanks, I check it out.
Jennifer in MI
Okay - I love a challenge. I just searched in April and found a cruise that leaves out of Charleston, SC - so the drive wouldn't be too bad! Five nights on Carnival stopping at Freeport and Nassau. Cheapest room is $319/pp.
