Angel
This is turning out to be one of those weeks *sigh* I've been sick all week and just showered for the first time in I don't know how many days this morning. My hair is in dire need of a coloring. I just found out that I have a viewing and funeral to attend tomorrow/Saturday of a really close uncle. I need to dye my hair tonight, the last thing I want to do when not feeling well, but it needs it. Will it be ok to dye it over clean hair? redsquirrel
I have never paid any attention if my hair is clean or dirty in 20 years of colouring my hair. It could go either way, and I have never noticed anything.
PrincessMommy
My friend colors my hair (she's a licensed stylist but works at home). She only says that I shouldn't have product in my hair like mousse or hair spray. Being clean is fine. In fact, one time I came with mousse in my hair (I forgot) and she washed my hair, then colored it..
Angel
Ok. Thanks so much! I have never colored squeaky clean hair. But I don't want to do it tomorrow and smell it all day and in the car for 2.5 hours. Plus I don't know if I'll have time tomorrow with packing and driving. Thanks again!! dancer67
My daughter is a hairdresser. Yes, you can color clean hair. Just make sure that you have no products in it(gel, hairspray etc)
raceNzanesmom
I always color my hair when it's clean. Otherwise, it would be full of product that tames my curls. Just make sure it's 100% dry.
Arcadia
Clean and dry works best for coloring/highlighting hair. I use the conditioner that comes with the pack after that. It gets rid of the smell and also soften the hair a little.
