mommymilkies
We've tried work folders and we have Sterilite drawers, but they don't fit in our bigger or wider books. I was looking at one of these: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-10-Drawer-Trolley-Cart/20750756 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Seville-Classics-10-Drawer-Organizer/21618400?findingMethod=rr But I was wondering how strong they are. My oldest two that would use them are pretty good at taking care of things, but I read reviews they break and come off track easily. I would love a trofast system, but my budget is super tight right now. Would these work ok or are there better options out there?
Snow
I bought one very similar to the multi colored one from Michaels....so bad. I agree with what youve heard about them. The trays are just barely wide enough to fit in the tracks and if you don't slide them right, they slip right off the tracks. DS can't get them in half the time. Such a waste! I haven't found another solution so I just pull out what he needs and stack everything on the table for now.
Um_2_4
I have 4 of the 1st one you linked to. My oldest have no problems using them after a small "lesson" on how to use them. I remove drawers for each one for the younger 2. They will NOT hold binders (even 1"). If you are familiar with the book "Easy Grammar" (pretty thick), that is the largest book they will hold. Those DK nature encyclopedias are too heavy.

They cannot take anything heavy. Some of the knobs have pulled off. My dd now uses it for craft supplies.
mommymilkies
Thanks. Looks like we'll pass, then. She has heavier Algebra and Logic books that would pull them down. :(
DarlaS
How about something like this? http://www.walmart.c...indingMethod=rr Or the really nice heavy duty magazine files. That way, they sit nicely on a shelf.
JanetC
Would a bookshelf next to the workboxes, with labels showing what books go where, work for your heavier items? Older kids can usually handle having both a drawer and a shelf, and the labels will help you put things in consistent spots each day. mommymilkies
How about something like this? http://www.walmart.c...indingMethod=rr Or the really nice heavy duty magazine files. That way, they sit nicely on a shelf. I love this. Thanks! I'll have to think about the price, but it looks good if I can find somewhere to put it. Shelves won't work. Dishpans did not work for us this far and I have no wall space for racks. We have radiators everywhere. :(
