mo2 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Can we jump in at Logic Stage Biology in grade 5? In other words, is any previous knowledge required? In the grammar stage, we focused heavily on the 3 Rs, and science was done only informally. Quote
Ewe Mama Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I would go for it. All children observe and absorb information, whether they are being formally instructed in a given subject or not. With the logic stage, you will get the same overall information, it will just add more depth and the ability to apply more knowledge to what they have already observed. Enjoy! Quote
RootAnn Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 My oldest is doing ES's Logic Stage Biology. I just asked her & she said you didn't need to have any previous science experience, but it would be helpful. (She adds that a good memory is a useful thing.) She says she especially enjoys working on labeling the sketches. Quote
mo2 Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 Thanks. I think we will go for it. DD will be 11 when we start, and she is very science-minded. She enjoys all things science, but we kept it very informal and delight-directed in the grammar stage. I think she will be fine. Quote
