Mukmuk
Ds has had this issue for a long while. He loves to run the back of his hand against the soft inside of his lower lips. He says it's a very comforting feeling. Does anyone have a substitue for this? I tried velcro under the table, which helps with picking his fingers, but I'm wondering where I can find a more acceptable replacement for this particular issue. Tiramisu
I once bought a chewy toy on a ribbon type of necklace from an OT place online. It's not bad looking, in terms of acceptability, but it wasn't used much.
Mukmuk
Thanks, Tiramisu. He hasn't been a chewing gum kind of kid, and he says the soothing sensation is to his hand. Maybe I can give him something smooth to rub his hand against. The underside of his table is going to be stuck full of strange things ... houseofkids&pets
That could be a good idea. Maybe use those double sided type of velcro pieces and attach a piece of satin under the table?? You could have him try other fabrics to figure out which textures feel best to him
