LNC
Has anyone done this? I'll try to line them up when my HO texts arrive. I'm wondering if HO even includes enough US history to make adding in History of US feasible? Thanks for answering all of my history questions this week. redsquirrel
I have done it, but in a sort of 'seat of my pants' sort of way. Human Odyssey (K12, right?) does address US history, right along with everything else. Hakim, of course, goes much deeper. I did take a break from the HO book for a bit and have used book 2 and 3 from Hakim. Again, I didn't plan out too much, just assigned a couple chapters of Hakim every day and we talked about it. Now that we are to the end of the revolution we are back to Human Odyssey. That means we will be moving to the French Revolution in a bit. matilda
There is American Odyssey. I was planning to line this up somewhat with Hakim this summer, but haven't done it yet.
Crimson Wife
HO 2 has chapters on exploration, the conquistadors, the Spanish colonies, the English colonies, the American Revolution, the development of new transportation systems including the railroads, slavery and the abolition movement, the Civil War, inventions, the Progressive era, the Panama Canal, and the leadup to WWI. Are you planning to use the concise version of Hakim or the full one?

Early modern time period next year(late 1600s to 1849), and modern time period the following school year(1849 to cold war). So, just part of book 2 for next year. Not really sure yet. It seems rushed to study revolutionary war and civil war in one year if Iinclude more American history. I guess I need to see how HO breaks up the chapters... I'm thinking about adding in the concise Hakim books myself, in the same way that I'm adding on OUP's World in Ancient Times now.
