Caterpillars, milkweed and all that is needed to grow butterflies? I have the butterfly net for them to grow in already and I know I can order a net and get a certificate to mail in for them - but don't see a need to order a new net when I already have one.

Thank you.

You can order caterpillars directly from Insect Lore. Most of the coupons you see end up going there. I've never heard of getting milkweed from a supplier. Newly hatched butterflies are fine with some fruit - like orange segments - or even a pepper towel dipped in sugar water. The butterflies are best released shortly after emerging. The Insect Lore website has LOADS of info.

:iagree: We've done this a couple of times: new caterpillars with the same "house." The caterpillars come with all the food they need, and we let the butterflies out after maybe a week so they don't need much.
