Faithr
I'm trying to compile a list of options. Any ancillary tales are possibilities too, such as those that focus on Sir Lancelot, Sir Gawain, etc. Thanks!
Zoo Keeper
Once and Future King King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table by Roger Lancelyn Green Howard Pyle's King Arthur and possibly Mary Stewart's Merlin books (although these may be too mature for some). Cassy
From a slightly different angle, Michael Morpurgo's 'Arthur, High King of Britain', the tales of Camelot as told by King Arthur to a small boy whom he rescues from drowning: http://www.amazon.co...59743482&sr=8-
redsquirrel
Rosemary Sutcliff has The Sword and the Circle. I feel like it is part of a larger series (a trilogy?) but that is the only title I remember. I might be confusing the trilogy part with another Sutcliff series of books. The Sword and the Circle might be a stand alone. They are all running together in my brain.
dhudson
We love "The Squire's Tale" by Gilbert Morris.
Laura Corin
Black Horses for the King, by Anne McCaffrey. The Sword in the Stone by TH White. The rest of the books in The Once and Future King get very dark - I would not recommend them for this age group. The Mary Stewart books mentioned by a pp have a fair amount of implied sexuality that you may or may not be comfortable with. Laura
