AndyJoy
My 3-year-old is constantly asking me questions about what's in our bodies and making up "facts" about it when he doesn't know the answer. Does anyone have a recommendation for an anatomy book with lots of pictures that I can share with him? It doesn't have to be specifically geared to young kids as long as it has good pictures! I'm also pregnant so if anyone has a suggestion for a book that shows fetal development as well I'd be interested in that. I'm looking at The Pregnant Body Book for that purpose. I checked out Your Developing Baby, Conception to Birth from the library and wasn't impressed.
Farrar
Oh, I know the perfect book. It was super cute and we used it when the kids were 4 and 5 yo. It had a kid's name in it and the kid had ostensibly drawn the pictures. Oy... I wish I could remember the title. I'm seeing the cover... argh... I'm going to think more... Dory
The Uncover the Human Body book was great for the kids. The 3-d model inside the book fascinated them. It was one of the best books we got. I also second the Magic School Bus on the human body.

Farrar
Got it! Sorry, that was making me crazy. It's a series called Sam's Science and it covers a bunch of stuff. Maybe a little older, but I remember my kids liked it when they were in preK, so an interested 3 yo might enjoy them. Here's one about teeth and one about food, but there are a bunch more. three4me
My kids have LOVED this book for a long time now. DD is 4 now, but really loved it at 3. Just enough info for them to think about, but no to cluttered and detailed either. We actually had an older edition, but I'm sure they're both great. I think you can only get them used now, but I really think it's worth it to get one, or to borrow it from the library. SunnyDays
Dory mentioned this as well... Uncover Human Body. http://www.amazon.com/Uncover-Human-Body-An-Book/dp/1571457895/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1359603330&sr=8-2&keywords=undercover+human+body It has a 3-D model that pulls away in layers as the pages were turned. DS has had it for years and loves it!!
CrunchyGirl
Not strictly anatomy but my kids love the book "It's Not the Stork". Covers basic anatomy, basic development and growth (babies become children who become teenagers then adults and grow older). Also covers the high level basics for where babies come from. Mergath
Dd has the "See Inside Your Body" Usbourne book, and she loves it. It has flaps, and just enough information to keep her interested without being overwhelming.
AndyJoy
Thanks everyone! I requested a bunch of these from the library and can't wait to share them with DS. He watches Magic School Bus frequently (when I can pull him away from Clifford the Big Red Dog) and I know it has fed his curiosity.
