Night Elf Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 It's a plain cookie, maybe like a shortbread type. There is a depression in the top where you put a dollup of something like jam. Are these difficult to make? I did a butter cookie once and it was horrible. yech Quote
AK_Mom4 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Jam Thumbprints. ETA: not hard to make at all. I have done them using a Snickerdoodle recipe or a sugar cookie recipe and they both come out yummy. Here is an easy recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/jam-thumbprints/ Quote
BrookValley. Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Yep, jam thumbprints. I like this recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/raspberry-lemon-thumbprint-cookies-recipe/index.html I don't always use the lemon (or chambord; I usually just thin the jam with a little OJ, if necessary) and I often vary the jams. I like apricot as well as the raspberry. They're really good and very easy! Quote
Annie G Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I grew up calling them jamborees. Made with apricot jam! Quote
DianeW88 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Jam thumbprints!! My family snarfs them down whenever I make them. They're delicious with homemade strawberry jam. Quote
