love2read
I've agreed to help a friend who needs some books that aren't available on CD. Is there a program that I can download onto my laptop? I have no idea where to even start. Has anyone done this?
Arcadia
We have used windows media player, save in "my music" folder than burn to CD when we are done. We use the webcam's speaker. http://www.ehow.com/how_6887380_record-voice-using-media-player.html Are you using a PC or a Mac?

jelbe5
The free program Audacity will allow you to do this. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Audacity will also allow you to edit the recording and break a long recording up into separate tracks when you are ready to burn the recording to a CD. Audacity is for Mac and PC.
