Homemaker
I am mid-30s and don't take any medications but I handle stress and anxiety poorly. My period has been out of whack this time. First it was really light spotting, went away and then some what normal but still light and then went away and now I am spotting again for a few days... Ughh.. My breast are tender and I am freaking out. I am not pregnant, my husband and I are both "fixed". Has anyone had weird periods? Please don't tell me the horror stories or someone had a weird period and then finding out they have cancer or dying or something; my stress is already high... Ughh... Please someone cam me down about this.
KungFuPanda
You're a little young, but I've found that right around 40, 'weird periods' become a more normal occurrence. The first time I had a wacky one I ran to my Gyn, who was not remotely impressed. He told me to come back if it kept happening, but a couple odd cycles just isn't a big deal medically. I know . . . no help at all. It's just strange to notice significant changes and NOT be pregnant. I know I was weirded out.
caroljenn
I agree with Kung Fu. My periods started getting very erratic and weird in my late 30s. I went on the pill for a while to straighten things out, and that worked for a while. Hope you feel better soon!
jackson'smama
going to the doctor tomorrow for this exact issue. i just turned 37. no way i'm pregnant. totally sick of this. and i worry too. i had it checked out a few months ago and labs were fine, ultrasound was fine (did show an ovarian cyst that resolved after about 4 weeks, so that didn't seem to be a culprit). tomorrow is just a follow-up because i'm a worrier and because my annual is due. doctor said before it's just hormonal. i still nurse and i'm under LOTS of stress right now which i know i don't handle well, but this is getting ridiculous. you are not alone, if that helps!
