Depending if you are looking for specific ones, I would check Craigslist. I just looked, and in my area there have been four sets of Duplos listed for sale in the last week. One was a big lot of over 150 pieces listed for $40, another was an unopened set with 71 pieces listed for $20 which seems to be $10-$15 cheaper than you could find it at a store.

I'd also check thrift stores. My local St. Vincent de Paul stores have pretty reasonable prices for large bags of them (~$5). I got a great deal on them at a rummage sale once--$2 for a big trash bag full.

I agree that you should check Craigslist... People only occasionally part with their Legos, but they definitely outgrow their Duplos. I sold my kids' Duplos about a year ago and I just put them up on our local homeschool list... and they were gone in seconds. :D
