AimeeM
We took the children to Chuck E Cheese yesterday afternoon. After we left, the 3 year old was hoarse and it's only become worse in the last 12 hours or so. He keeps saying he's "not feeling good", but when I ask him where he doesn't feel well, he just looks confused and repeats that he isn't feeling well. There are no other symptoms other than the hoarseness. He wasn't yelling at Chuck E Cheese, so the sudden hoarseness confuses me. He is coughing a bit and he kept crying in his sleep last night. Am I going to be laughed at if I call to make an appointment for him? Is there anything at all to be concerned about?
melissad2
I would assume it was the beginnings of a cold or nasal allergies. I wouldn't take a child to the dr for just that...there is really nothing to do except encourage fluids.
Jennifer in MI
I agree with the PP. I have a daughter who loses her voice every time she gets sick. Poor thing!!!
J-rap
Sounds like he's getting a cold. I wouldn't call the doctor either. My daughter too was hoarse for about two days and last night it turned into a small fever and a bad head cold.
