Milknhoney Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I'd like to buy a book for my 8yo son on nutrition. It seems like everything out there is just for little kids, which only cover the food groups and an admonition to stay away from fat and sugar. I would like something that goes a little more in depth. He is a science kid, so he would be okay with explanations about the differences in sugar molecules, how oil is hydrogenized and why that is bad for you, what is oxidation, how grains are processed and why whole grains are better, etc. Is there anything out there for kids that gets that detailed? julikins Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I just read a review for Nutrition 101: Choose Life by Growing Healthy Homes. I don't have the link for it now (I click on stuff and then can never find my way back---doh!). But maybe a google search. The reviewer said it was very thorough, science oriented and her kids were very interested. Let me know what you think :) Quote

I was hoping for something along the lines of $9.99. :001_smile: And I was thinking of something that my son could just read on his own as his interest led him, rather than a whole curriculum. Quote
