Guest inoubliable Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Shock email just a few minutes ago, and wanted to share in case anyone here was waiting until the 30th to file. I filed last week (expecting that the IRS wouldn't look at it until the 30th) and today TurboTax emailed me to say that my federal return has been accepted early. Refunds still won't begin processing until the 30th, but it looks like we may get our refund quicker than expected because our return has already been accepted. If you're ready to file today, it may be beneficial to go ahead and submit through an online tax service rather than wait until the 30th. Quote
Heatherwith4 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013  I filed through TurboTax a week ago. I really hope we get accepted early, too. I'm pretty anxious to get the money. :) Quote

Element Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Hey, thanks for the heads up! I just checked and ours was too! Quote
AlmiraGulch Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 We filed yesterday through TurboTax and I'm reasonably sure mine won't be accepted early. There's some sort of something or other that is delaying all returns who have a Schedule C. Something about new laws surrounding depreciation and amortization of business assets. It's so stupid, because my husband purchased a marginal amount of musical equipment this year and chose to take the full deduction in year one. So for a very small claim we have to wait. Ugh. Oh, well. I'm just glad it's finished already. P.S. Getting married is a very expensive proposition. I'm paying significantly more in taxes as a married person than I did as head of household. My husband couldn't believe it. I tried to warn him! A million times I asked him was he sure he wanted to get married because it was going to cost us, and I would have been perfectly happy living in unmarried bliss, but NO...he has to be all sweet and romantic and traditional. :tongue_smilie: Quote
AvasMom Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 We just noticed that dh didn't consent to getting his W-2 electronically so we have to wait for the paper version. Ughhhh! I am not exactly skilled in waiting patiently for anything. *twitch twitch* Quote
mommymilkies Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Mine was accepted, but they will not *process* any until after the 30th, according to the IRS. Quote

Kind of a done deal, kwim? They just have to push the button to send it through. Quote
