Hunter's Moon Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I stopped using my Neti Pot when the scare was going on in the summer with the bacteria from the tap water. I know using boiled water should kill any microbes, since I do not want to keep buying purified water. Can I wash it in hot tap water or should I use the boiled water to clean it? I have also heard some people put hot water in it and put it in the microwave. Thanks for any help :) Quote
Mabeline Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I am not an expert, but I would figure the hot tap water and soap should clean it sufficiently. Quote
TKDmom Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I would just wash it in regular water. I would think the amount of bacterial residue on the Neti-pot after washing would be negligible. Pouring non-sterile water through your sinuses is not the same as using a clean, dry container that was cleaned with water that may have had bacteria. KWIM? Quote
