Today's music is David Garrett.

This was prompted by ds15 who was discussing my demise with dd11 (yes, they do that). He said that one song summed out how he would feel if I died and put on Bill Withers singing "There's no Sunshine Anymore".

David Garrett has a very nice rendition (without words) of that. So we segued to that.

I am finding that I'm on the forums less and less lately. It's a pain to read them from my phone and I just haven't found the time to sit down at the computer as often.

DONE:

morning devotion

get up and dressed

breakfast

baked 5 mini loaves of pumpkin bread

took daycare child #1 to her preschool

got dinner in the crockpot

kept daycare child #2 out of mischief while simultaneously teaching my own kids (we muddled our way through all of our morning school lessons)

lunch

picked up daycare child #1 from preschool (1pm)

got daycare child #2 down for a nap (phew! Quiet at last)

STILL TO DO:

finish school lessons

vacuum/sweep

do 1 load of laundry

wait for daycare children's parents to come and pick them up (3:30-4pm)

pack a dinner for dd15 to take to dance to eat during break

take dd15 to dance (she has classes from 4:30-8:30)

grocery store run

dinner

general clean-up

pick up dd15 from dance

get dd15 & ds to pack their stuff for weekend retreat at church

Sorry, you'll have to count me out! Some sort of flu has decided to reside within my corporal frame, rendering me a chilly, unmoving lump in my bed. Although I did manage to drag myself out to get juice for daughter, build tent for son, and start laundry (absolutely necessary since daughter puked in bed last night.) And post about this as well as a question about laundry. Going back to bed now, or soup, or maybe soup in bed!

I'm trying to keep myself motivated!

Done:

3 loads of laundry done, 1 to go

Cookies made for dessert tonight

House tidied and straightened for company

Bills paid

Math, spelling, Latin and writing done with ds9

Much better day today with ds12! Lots of praise handed out today!

First load of dishes done.

To do:

Lunch

Work this afternoon. My friend is staying at her mom's who's house I'm cleaning. It'll be nice to chat with her while I'm working.

Dinner tonight with Mom, uncle and my brother. I'm serving homemade perogies, Polish sausage, and green beans. Yum!

Finish grading this week's work and file it away.

Upload photos to Costco to pick up tomorrow.

I didn't get to clean my house yesterday like I usually do. I visited with my uncle instead. I don't regret that at all, but today the house feels a bit grimy. I know it wouldn't most people but I'm crazy that way. I'll get over it. I'm gonna see if I can skip cleaning for another whole week and only do floors and linens. I doubt I'll make it that long, but it's good to stretch my boundaries. ( At least that's the line I'm feeding myself. LOL)

I'll join in, but I have to slog, not tackle.

Yesterday's to do list did me in. Out of guilt I stayed up and selected photos for the 4H board in the dog training building. Sent them to Walgreens so I could pick them up on the way to dog class. All b/c I thought the other mom had her photos ready to go.

She didn't even show up for class and still hasn't answered my emails. I'm sure something came up, but boy, do I wish I went to bed instead. I'm exhausted and we ended up being late and having to stay for the 2nd dog class instead of the1st.

And the trainer brought a friend's dog for my Dd to work with in addition to her own dog (don't ask, Dd is big into dogs). Boy were they surprised when class time rolled around and we didn't show. Dd did get to work with the dog for about 1/2 hr, so it wasn't a total loss. Of course, b/c her dog gets jealous, I had to work with him on obedience so he would behave himself, so I couldn't just sit there. I finally put him in the crate in the car so I could just veg.

So, b/c we took the 2nd class we got home 1 hr later than usual and we are now behind on schoolwork----again :willy_nilly: ( I really would like to see a pulling your hair out smiley.)

Done:

picked up photos

took Dc & dogs to dog class

occupied Dd's dog so she could work with another dog

held photos up to the B board to see if we had enough to fill it

made lunch

read devotional w/ Dc

Editing session w/ Dd to finalize her 4H newsletter article and send it in

Session w/ Ds to discuss work to be completed and turned in today

checked w/ my great uncle to see if he found documents he was searching for

To do:So much I can't even think which task I'll tackle next!

Afternoon update:

Found some energy from somewhere...

Finished Math review w/ Dd

Assigned reading & literature questions for Dd

dishes from this morning finally done!

renewed library books & packed backpack to take back to library tonight

To do:

I definitely need to get to the library tonight or I'll have fines

Grade Ds' Geometry test & his essay

try to fit in a TOG literature discussion after dinner

Revise tomorrow's lesson plans

My Thursday has ended as far as I am concerned. I spent all day cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, dusting. Why? Because DS3's home teacher was coming at 4:30. The place is spotless.

So what does DS3 do? She arrives, and he brings her in through the basement. That is where I had the boys put all the stuff that was cluttering the upstairs, and none of was put where it actually goes because I wasn't down there to direct traffic. I was cleaning the bathroom!

The boys said it was easier to for her to come in through the basement. What if she had slipped on the steps in the hill on the way to the front door and died? I said if she had died, we'd stash her body in the woods, and figure out a reason to ask our neighbor to dig us a deep hole when the ground thaws.

DS2 said if I did that, he'd call the police..... such loyalty! :D

Anyway, she has such a soft voice (unheard of around here) that I could barely hear her over the dog barking in his crate. I had a dilemma: It's too cold to put the dog out; he'd turn into a pupsicle. OTOH, if I let him out, he'd introduce her to the Wheaten Greetin', which is not so much fun for the victim, considering he weighs 50 lbs.

Plus I said a curse word (d----), in casual conversation, when I was aiming at seeming to be rather refined and intelligent, in a dusting is not all I do sort of way. Once the d-word left my mouth, I decided to let her think I am a raving maniac with a raving maniac dog and raving maniac kids.

Plus, in the midst of all this, DS3 asks me why I'm so frantically spending hours cleaning, and I said that a government worker was coming to our house and she'd probably put its condition in a report somewhere, that would haunt him for the rest of his life.

So now DS3 thinks I'm a raving maniac, too. At least, through this, he can bond with his teacher.

She will come twice a week for two hours. Real Home Teachers do better than that! But I'm not complaining. At least every Monday and Wednesday afternoon, the house will be spotless.

It looks like nobody lives here. And if anyone tries to do anything besides breathe, I'm going to have a hissy fit.

The bacon will have to wait until tomorrow. Leaving for orchestra in 10 minutes, and will be back late. Excited about the rehearsal though - we're reading through the music for our next classical concert - Scheherazade, Brahms Symphony No. 2, and Wagner's Tannhauser Overture. It'll be a workout.

Today snow cancelled my 14 yo's Aquinas Learning. So we didn't do the regular get up and get out the door and spend a good portion of the morning driving him.

We did read aloud, worked on math, independent reading.

Helped 17 yo with his paper

Visited a possible school for 14 yo next year

took a nap (after I came home!)

cleaned a couple toilets

Then swept and wiped down the basement stairs

Vacuumed basement

Did a load of towels ( in dryer now)

Cleaned kitchen and did a big tidy up with the kids.

Got pizza for dinner
