SueTx
My daughter used BJU Algebra 2. When she got to College Algebra, I found she had not been properly prepared. I don't want to make the same mistake with my next child. He has done BJU Algebra 1 and Jacobs Geometry. Whilch Lial should I use for Algebra 2? Thanks, Sue

Jann in TX
Intermediate Algebra 8th or 9th edition PAPERBACK Lial has 2 different series that offer Intermediate Algebra as Algebra 2. The Paperback one (8th edition has bridge/boardwalk on cover) has a larger font with practice problems to work in the sidebar as you read through the lesson. ISBN for 8th is 0321279204 The LARGE paperback text has a durable binding-- but I also reinforce with clear self-laminating sheets. Mine have held up through several years use. HollyDay
I have a question.....I was given the HARDBACK version of Intermediate Algebra. I bought the solutions manual online for a good price. Did I make a mistake?
Kareni
My daughter used a hardback Intermediate Algebra textbook by Margaret Lial, and my husband teaches Algebra 2 classes to homeschoolers using the same textbook. I imagine that all will be fine. Regards, Kareni
mom31257
Do you think it is not because of the Algebra 2 book, or that most College Algebra classes today assume the students have been past Algebra 2? I don't know what those classes expect a student to already know. Our state requires 4 math credits, and college bound students are taking either Pre-Calculus or even Calculus their last year.
