Halcyon
Looking for a read aloud for my kids, paarticularly my older, on Roman history. Have downloaded a few free old books, and they are all pretty dry. Ideas appreciated. ETA: I own Augustus Caesar's World by Genevieve Foster which i bought ages ago and haven;t read. Good place to start?
prairiewindmomma
Eagle of the 9th (about the Romans in Britain) is a favorite of my 10yob right now.
SilverMoon
Augustus Caesar's World is like SOTW at a higher reading level. It also covers what's happening all over the world at the same time. Famous Men of Rome could work for those ages. Or In Search of a Homeland: The Story of the Aeneid (Penelope Lively). Geraldine McCaughrean wrote a nice collection of Roman myths, too. Halcyon
Oh yes, I forgot I own Famous Men of Rome! Thank you. The Lively book looks great.
