Shelly in IL
The boys (16 and 13) wanted to have their friends over today. Not friends that they normally have over, but super nice kids. Well, they spent the afternoon playing risk! I mean probably 3 hours playing the same game! To hear them yell, it was total world domination! They yelled and laughed and talked for 3 hours while playing a board game! I'm not sure that has ever happened in our house! It was truly heartwarming. I am so sick of the video game mentality! It was so refreshing!
Renthead Mommy
The husband taught the 10yo to play Risk last night. The 10 yo bought it for him for Christmas. I agreed to the gift on the condition that I never EVER had to play it! So far, so good! But yes, world domination. Apparently that is a thrill to young, and not so yound boys. Shelly in IL
Oh, I enjoy the game, too. So far, undisputed queen of the conquered world!
Lizzie in Ma
Fantastic. We play lots of board games and card games, you should here it around here when they play spoons. Hilarious stuff. The sound of laughter in the house is a beautiful thing.
Night Elf
You could actually set up a "play" date for board games if the other kids like it so much. Risk is a great game, but there are some others if they would be interested in learning more. We have one called Pandemic that is lots of fun to play. The Risk we have is called Risk AD 2210. I'm wondering if that Risk is easier to play than the real Risk because I can play it and I'm not a great strategy player. Well, DH did have to help me a bit. :)
