Ds is taking an honors world history class. It is part of the honors program at his college. The class has six students in it. Each student has a different textbook so that they can compare the different ways history is presented by different writers. It will be interesting to see how this works out. I hope he'll share with me often!

What a neat approach! I hope you'll share details after some time has passed.

I haven't read it, but I'm reminded of this book by James Loewen -- Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong -- in which a variety of popular American History textbooks were compared.

Kareni

But back to the OP--I think the prof had a great idea. Six kids in a class; that sounds amazing.

Honors classes have a maximum size of 16. Most are around 10. They are wonderful. Far more critical thinking, and more interesting assignments than the non-honors program classes. Not all classes have honors sections so both have been experienced.
