Halcyon
Sigh. Sometimes i wish we had never heard the words Wii, Minecraft or ipod touch. Life was easier before them.
Freckles
I did this for 2 days until I realized I was punishing myself. Hopefully, your children won't drive you batty.
Cosmos
So how are you posting?
Halcyon
Haha. I am exempted from this rule. As is DH. Only those who are unable to stop themselves fromwailing, moaning, sighing and throwing temper tantrums when asked to turn off their device are NOT exempt. As far i know, neither dh nor i fit into any of these categories.
sewingmama
Just finished a week of this after DS threw the Wii remote at DD. my 3yo was the most put out -it appears he has an IPad addiction. Anyway they all suddenly remembered how to use their imaginations again -fancy that. The ban lifted today but so far all they have asked for is 15 minutes on the IPad. Trying to get them used to restrictions for when we start back to school in a week.

cheryl h
We are currently on a Minecraft/wii ban till the end of the month. It's just too hard getting back into the swing of things from the holidays competing with these. I am only allowing educational tv if all school, music practice, and chores are done...and only because I am dealing with a chronic illness and don't have the energy to fight over it. We are actually re-entering school life well. I think we will do this every September and January.
Mélie
We moved just before Christmas and still haven't set up the Wii, XBox or cable. It's been so nice! I also have a couple Nintendo 3DSs in my sock drawer, which will be returned to their owners when they prove that they can go two days without fighting. :glare:
Paula in MS
We had a really difficult day here, too. I completely lost my temper. I also said not tv, minecraft, or iPod until further notice, but I tend to not stick with it. We need something to change around here. And then when I asked my kids why it is they forgot to hang up their wet towels YET AGAIN, they said "well, if you hadn't gotten so mad about Minecraft we would have remembered." Okay, ya. Pin that one on me too. :cursing:
Mom28kds
Good for you. We do this from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I do let them watch TV. Just no games on any electonic device. It'll help them realize they can live life without them.
Dandelion
We've had to do that here too - many times. Stay strong! :grouphug:

Mom2pandc
We had a difficult day today which ended in my kids kicking each other. I already told them if tomorrow is not better, they will not be having friends over Friday. Then DH went up and told them no electronics for a week! I promptly asked why is he punishing me. Lol I did take them away earlier today and it was fine, they don't really have a screen addiction, except for the occasional wave. But sometimes mom needs them to kill brain cells on the computer so I can get a break! Like to use the bathroom alone!
