Ginevra
I would love to obtain a mascara that I really like. They always seem to have smudging problems. I have short, sparse lashes naturally. My ideal mascara would be: 1. Hypoallergenic 2. Waterproof 3. Black 4. Non-clumping 5. Non-Flaking 6. Non-SMUDGING! 7. Readily available at a pharmacy (i.e, not Arbonne or similar) 8. Not terribly expensive (somewhere around $10 or less) Anybody have a recommendation?
Runningmom80
I just read hat physicians formula organic mascara is supposed to be good! I use tarte lights camera lashes, but it's $19.
Onceuponatime
Cover Girl Lash Exact waterproof works for me, after years of avoiding mascara because of some of those issues. A tip I read recently really helps too. When putting on mascara, wiggle the brush from side to side. That helps keep lashes from sticking together and feeling awkward. Kim in Appalachia
I really like Loreal's Voluminous million lashes. It's in the gold tube. That stuff works great.
Guest
Thank you, ladies! I'll check out one or both of those!
lluv
I've tried lots of brands, but I always come back to Loreal's Voluminous. I've have very short, stubby lashes and Loreal lengthens and thickens them really well, without spending more than $10! :)
wonderchica
Cover Girl's various Lash Exact formulas are all good. I use Lash Exact Volume Waterproof.

MooCow
this is my current fav....i'm a mascara junkie http://www.sephora.com/smoky-lash-P217907?skuId=1097229
Audrey
I like Avon's Lash Act (from the Mark. line). You can adjust the length of the bristles for more volume or more length. It wears all day with no smudging or flaking on me. I also like Cover Girl Lash Blast waterproof (in the purple tube with the gold cap), but I find that getting off waterproof mascara is hard on my eyes. Happy
I really like Loreal's Voluminous million lashes. It's in the gold tube. That stuff works great. Yay I just picked up a tube of this to try. So glad to hear two good reviews of it on this board.

elizabeth
Almay one stroke is a nice mascara as well. I use the old style cake mascara because it is thick and makes my eyes look like tarantulas. I wear eyeliner that would challenge Cleopatra for excess. It is in my blood, what can I say?? Reya
Maybelline or Cover Girl. Honestly, I tried a sample of 8 super-expensive minis....and the drug store brands are just as good.
SJ.
Another vote for voluminous, love it! A tip I received at the Lancôme counter is that many waterproof mascara a tend to flake.
Miss Peregrine
For drugstore I like Volum' Express One-by-One. No raccoon eyes. For department store I LOVE Clinique High Impact.
Katy
L'Oreal's tube technology mascara is my favorite ever- I can't think what it's called but it's the one in the burgundy and white tube. It doesn't flake or smear (once dry), doesn't sweat or cry off, and NEVER turns me into a raccoon eyed monster. I have oily eyelids and that has always been an issue for me. It's cheapest at Ulta. You put this white primer on first to build length & volume, then top with black while the primer is still wet. Incidentally, I DON'T like the waterproof version (I think that's in the blue and white tube) as much as the non-waterproof version because it flakes. The non-waterproof comes off with a warm-water wash- you gently pull it off your lashes. If you don't pull, it will last through a shower. My sister loves a tube-technology mascara from Clinique, but I don't see the point in the extra $8.

I like that one for when I have to be "on" all day long. It comes off easily with warm water and a washcloth. I don't use it all the time, though, because I find it drying at my eyelash line, but I have very sensitive skin around the eyes, so that may not be a problem for most. I've never tried the waterproof version. I think the red and white tube is good enough to be almost waterproof anyway. It just does NOT come off without the warm water and washcloth. This. I use L'Oreal's Voluminous mascara also, and wash it off every night when I shower. I really don't like havng to use a special product to remove the mascara. I like Bare Essentuals mascara, but it's way more expensive than L'Oreal.
jkwynn
I get mascara now and then in my birchbox, and fell in love a couple months ago with the modelco fibre lashxtend one - LOVE it! Although, I admit that I was smitten with the fact that they put a tiny mirror on the tube, too - smart points. lol. It probably doesn't meet your checklist, though, AND costs $24 for the full-size. (The birchbox itself is only 10 bucks, which is why I love it.) I'll have to look into the voluminous one suggested here, because there is no way I'm spending 24 dollars on mascara when i run out of this. No. Way. A year ago I didn't even WEAR makeup. But man, it makes my lashes look soooo thick and long.
