rachelpants
We will be reading "Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening" for FIAR. I read on the Delightful Learning Blog about how she had her kids experiment with writing poems themselves. I love the idea and think it would be a great intro to poetry. We read a few poems here and there but I have no formal writing curriculum yet. I'd love to have DS experiment with this a little, but I'm unsure where to begin. She did have some links on the blog for the resources she used, but the links were broken :-/. Any ideas? Thanks! p.s....If anyone is interested, here is the link to the blog post I mentioned :) http://delightfullearning.blogspot.com/2011/01/stopping-by-woods-on-snowy-evening.html

three4me
There's a section in the book Playful Learning that is about writing. And I believe it has a few ideas for experimenting with writing poetry at a young age.

I think I have that book on my Amazon wishlist....although I couldn't remember why because there are so many there, lol. Thanks! I'll check it out. :)
