Parrothead
He is on my porch or between my house and the neighbors (just under my bedroom window) and making all kinds of ruckus. It dosesn't soudn like a cat in heat looking for someone to scratch and itch. Just someone looking for a playmate. He knows there is at least one can in my house. Gilbert as screamed at him numeroust times to get the $%&* off his porch but visiting kitty still wants to play. I've been up since 3:30 dealing with this. The water isn't on outside and we don't have a hose hooked up to scare him away with a squirt. I don't think we have an animal control officer. I'd let Baxter after it but Baxter is liable to chase the cat into the next town due to his nature as a hound dog.
clarkacademy
I threw pots of ice cold water on the strays that kept spraying my porch
Pod's mum
Got a good water pistol, vinegar and some pepper? No pepper if you are aiming for the cat, but pepper spread around is supposed to deter them. We used to spay various pepper mixes on our front step and doorway when we had a spraying Tom visiting in the past. Good luck.
BrookValley.
I would double check on a local animal control officer. Best case scenario, assuming it's an uneutered stray, is that it gets picked up and out of circulation, so to speak. You could help make sure he (or she) doesn't move on and find an available cat to make more cats...and more cats...If not animal control, do you have a local rescue that works with ferals and strays? We have a local organization that will provide traps and pick up the cats. They get them spayed and nuetered. Barring those options, I think you've probably got some ideas already. If nothing else, he'll probably move on looking for love somewhere else at some point.

Since he decided he wanted to really get a look in the house I saw him (or her) well about 5 on the porch. This is a well fed kitty. He has a home. I hope he found it.
