I haven't read either of those yet, thank you! I had looked The Happiness Project up on amazon and was surprised by so many low reviews so I kind of skipped over it. I'll have to go back again and take a better look.

I also enjoyed The Happiness Project. I didn't buy it b/c of the poor reviews. I reserved it from my library and was pleasantly surprised.

I haven't read the bad reviews. I think the book is marvelous. I own a copy and have given away copies, too. To unhappy people. :tongue_smilie:

FYI, the Kindle version of The Happiness Project is only $4.99 right now on Amazon. :) That made me happy... ;)

4.99 at B&N for Nook currently too. (For all those people like me who goofed and bought a Nook instead of a Kindle---okay I suppose some of them actually didn't goof and are happy with their NOOK!)

Another recommendation for the Happiness Project! And there is short book (I think it might have been Christian but I don't remember) about not complaining. The idea was you put a rubber band on your left wrist (or right) and every single time you complain out loud you switch the rubber band. I think the goal was to go for a month with not switching. But you just switch every single time you verbalize a complaint. I can't remember if I tried it or not...but I really liked the idea!

One of my favorites is "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" (secular, short chapters that can be read in less than 2 min. each, and some of the best advice on how to stay positive and enjoy life that I've read anywhere) - http://www.amazon.com/Sweat-Small-Stuff-small-stuff/dp/0786881852

"Creating a Charmed Life" (also secular, and same mini-chapter format as the above) - http://www.amazon.com/Creating-Charmed-Life-Sensible-Spiritual/dp/B0013L8BW4

LOL, I could never do that! I'm such a sensitive freak, that I can't handle having anything tight around my head (hats, headbands) or wrists. I get crazy headaches almost immediately.

I also enjoyed The Happiness Project, and she has also written one about being happy at home - I forget the exact title, but I enjoyed that one even more, as I do spend the majority of my waking hours in my home, and I am sensitive to my environment. Her sense of balance was really encouraging, and her take on the paradoxes of our lives was a refreshing view that helped me think about my happiness and my home and how those two intersect, especially for home schooling moms. (She's not at all a home schooling mom, but I thought a lot of her ideas, especially in the 2nd book, were well-suited to home schooling.)

Sorry, sorry! Not a tight rubberband. Something loose that come off easily but won't fall off. :)
