JumpyTheFrog
My grandpa is 94 and is suffering from every one of the major side effects of statin drugs, including memory problems, muscle pain, and loss of strength. I don't know how long he was on them, but thankfully, my dad finally convinced him to throw them away. He was doing pretty well for his age until the last six months or so. I suspect that may be when he started whichever statin he was on. He's started falling and his 83 year old girlfriend has to drag him out of the kitchen into another room so he can stand up again. My grandma died almost twenty years. She fell and broke her shoulder and she never really recovered. She spent the next two years in and out of hospitals. Sadly, from what I hear, this kind of thing may be fairly common, so I am worried about him falling. I'd like people to pray that my grandpa improves and ignores any attempts by the doctor to go back on them. I'd also appreciate it if people would pray that he would be willing to try CoQ10 to see if it helps reverse the side effects. He's very stubborn and resistant to trying anything other than what his doctor says. He sees himself as healthy. (I guess in his mind, it's normal for an elderly person to be in pain, have little use of their hands and feet, and have constant GI problems.) Thanks. Melissa in Australia
:grouphug: It is hard when they get older. 94 is in the ancient category. My in-laws are in their 90's, and my grandmother is not far behind. Old people do fall a lot, and they do break bones.
